Meet the Laugh-Out-Loud Cats by Adam Koford → lulu.com

Another must own, DIY item of the day. First brain cells… now old-timey LOLcats. This guy goes by Apelad I believe and Boing-Boing love him.

GIANTmicrobes | Brain Cell (Neuron)  → giantmicrobes.com

This lands directly on the much want list. Maybe after I get my refund for cashing in an unneeded life insurance policy, the government “save our economy rebate” check, or if I get a tax refund this year.

Can’t help but think of my mood and mental health when looking at this little guy. Need to investigate natural ways to elevate personal outlook. Nothing else seems to be very effective, or healthy long-term.

Anatomy of a video-game internet series...

I know that it has been done a million times before, but I would like to create a recurring (serial) piece built around the idea of finding a game spur of the moment and dissecting and talking about it. This could be video or in text, perhaps audio would be fun. That might be less expected and easier to cut and lay together. Yes, a podcast, that could be good. Throw in some game audio, opinions and swearing and it would be all set. But not like the Angry Nintendo Nerd of YouTube fame. I want to find and talk about games that no one noticed or cared about. Games like Cubivore, Second Sight, Judge Dredd: Dredd vs. Death… things like that. Great games that either scored low and didn’t sell.

Something else that could be hysterically fun is to buy and play games like Smashing Drive, which is a certifiable piece of shit. It was the first game I rented for the Gamecube and it was terrible. Oh god it was bad. I remember it being really hard, really ugly and really dated looking. The other pain point was that it was really really short. Maybe every 3 or 4 episodes could be something like this. A game that just sucks dick. I like that.

Another thing that would be fun is that the game would have to be found on the fly, at Vidiots. Or maybe this could be a monthly thing too. A completely random experience. All in glorious audio.

Right now I am digging through IGN’s old reviews of Gamecube games looking for things that I have never heard of before and there is all sorts of stuff that I would love to mine through here. Games like Lost Kingdoms comes to mind. It is a card-based RPG that I remember hearing about but never paid any attention to. I would venture a guess that no one else did either.

I also remember Aggressive Inline. Man that game was fucking good. Better than any Tony Hawk game and it was based on inline skating. Inline skating fucking sucks. So why was the best extreme sports game ever released a knock-off of Tony Hawk with inline skating? This is what I want to explore in this hypothetical series that I am spontaneously proposing to myself.

Anyway, here is the proposal, now it is time for the follow-through. I think I am going to pick out some games and get it started soon. This will probably become the new, completely re-focussed and much better for it mercilessrobot.com.

Download this incredible Flash game for Mac and PC. It is for sale on Xbox Live Arcade for $10. But why pay for broken DRM when you can play it here… for nothing.

Xbox Live Arcade Got DRM All Wrong  → paraesthesia.com

Currently experiencing this… really frustrating. Plus, in true Microsoft fashion, you will love the solution that they gave this guy. This type of thing makes me want to just ditch the console on principle. No other system pulls crap like this. Argh.
